I know this sounds really hoaky but keeping the log helps me SOOOOO much more because until I see it written down, I really can justify it or even "let it slip my mind".  Also, I review my log every evening....and when I do eat the things I shouldn't (or could have made better choices) I write down 2 alternatives.  I don't kick myself (or at least try not to) because it is already done...what's the point.....the point is to learn better choices and see where you struggle.  It's tough...but I think accountability works better than anything else for me!
