Have any of you had this procedure
I went to ST.E on a referal to see an gyno/oncolgist at the cancer center because i have complex atypical hyperplasia ,and need a hysterectomy.
Well its scheduled for Feb 19th,which is okay but he is going to remove the excess skin on my stomach at the same time.
Great right, yes but it scares me to think about it a skin removal and hysterectomy at the same time its like a 2 for 1 or buy one get one free.
But im wondering if any one has had this done at the same time and how things went.Is it safe.
He said it would take 4-5 hours and im just not sure.
What do you all think....
My surgery date for my gastric bypass is feb 18th ill be out 1 yr.
Ive been reading on the internet
thanks all

Lisa...never had either but I know my ob/gyn now does all kinds of plastics, lyposuction (sp) etc.... I think he is smart to do it all at once. If he is gonna be in there anyway...go for the whole thing! You are probably gonna hurt alot more...but man..at least its all over and done at once! Let me know where and I can be there for ya if you want! :)
Lisa I would check to see if this gyn/ob is board certified in Plastics??? I would check how long he has been doing them and also maybe ask for referrences or at least results of patients that have had plastics by this surgeon.
I dont mean to upset or scare you, but there are many horror stories out there about individuals who did not do their homework and etc and ended up with botched plastic jobs.
Just research research research that is my own opinion though
Good Luck

Alot of surgeons do this - one of my good friends had a tummy tuck at the same time she had her hernia repair. She hired a plastic surgeon to come in and do the work - but it cost her extra 4k. If you have the opportunity it might be worth it to get rid of that skin, there really is no other way, short of another surgery.
Ask her what kind of incision she will be using, it seems an anchor cut is the best. Post this on the Plastics Board as well to get some more advice.
It would be nice to lose 20 lbs in a day wouldn't it! I am so excited for you!

I owed it to myself to research the duodenal switch before consenting to any other weight loss surgery and so do you. Check out DSFacts.com and DuodenalSwitch.com for more information. Remember think twice, cut once, revisions are risky and revision surgeons are rare.
