OH NO!! I think the Gallbladder monster has caught me!

For those of you that have had the post-op gallbladder issues are the pains always sharp and acute or can they be milder and more ongoing?  I have had this right side pain for better than 24-hours now although it's more like an ache now.

I have not had the type of pain that has made me double over (yet - knock wood) but when I checked it out on WebMD it's walking and talking like a duck so it must be a duck!  I'm having right sided upper abdominal "twangs"  deep breaths are difficult, my stomach has a burning feeling at times, my intestines are rumbling, I'm belchy, have the referring shoulder blade pain, am female, have lost a lot of weight and it runs in the family.

I had a bariatric appointment this coming Tuesday anyway and I just got off the phone to confirm that I would be OK to wait until then to see the doctor.  They did suggest that I call my PCP to see if they could get me an ultrasound in the next 5 days so I have that to show rather than wait for him to order it then.

I'm not sure if I'd rather has this or one of my standard kidney stones!

Any words of wisdom out there for me?

Yee Haw for Dr. Hefner my PCP!!

They are going to squeeze me in tomorrow @ 10:15am for an appointment so they can order the ultrasound to be done over at the local hospital by Tuesday so I can then carry that in with me when I see Dr. Larson!!

Now, how's that for service???

Quack Quack! I could not have described it any better. Those pretty much seem to be the same symptoms I had years ago with my gallbladder. I recall even feeling like I was on the beginnings of a cold/flu as well.

Great news on getting the US so quickly. Hopefully the amount of pain/discomfort you're feeling will subside some until Tuesday.

Take it easy until then!

Oh no.  I hope it isn't.   I haven't had them but you are describing them the way lots of others have!
Congrats on getting in tomorrow for that ultrasound so they can take care of you soon.

Hope you feel better.

Beckaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!  I had my gallbladder out in 2006. My worst symptom was everything going right through me after I ate.... literally.. I would run to the bathroom and bam!!! I didn't have a lot of pain, but sounds like the "twangs" you are describing.
Glad you are on top of it and going to see the dr soon.  Don't want ya feeling poopy woman!!
Blessings to you all, Leah

Becca,

It sure sounds like gallbladder to me.  Glad that you got into your PCP fast and are getting the ultrasound.  I had mine out in 1998 and boy, did I feel better afterward.
