Hi lovely ladies and handsome gentlemen

I had my pulmonologist appointment today and I had my required Cpap reading...woooo hooo!! That is all done and-
I got my last needed clearance today!!!!!!!!!
I am sooo happy.
The doc and nurse both said they would have my paperwork faxed. I then saw the front desk gal getting it ready. She said something I reminded her of my chest xray and told her if she needed anything else there was a list in my folder. She said ok. and should have done by now.
Whooo hooo!
Dr. Shina is on a well deserved vacation and from what I understand will be back in the office next week.  The office will do what they do and thennnn.... it gets sent to TriCare and poof!  The approval fairie will make my day!
I have done alllllll my tests and then when the insurance approves me (notice my positive attitude) I should be able to just schedule.

So, it is a great day
hope you are all able to enjoy the lovely snow!

wait before I go thank you EVERYONE for your support and kindness

Hey, everyone, I haven't been on here in a while.  I have my consult with Dr. Shina Tuesday, Jan. 13, and I have been counting down the days!  I thought once I see him they send the paperwork to the insurance company before I have to go through all the tests.  If I do the tests first and then I don't get approved, then I'll have to pay for the all the tests, right?  I already have my assessments at Norton's done, so hopefully I will be having surgery in February.  Woohoo!

Hi Dana
All insurances require different things for submission. I had some requirements I took care of before submission that did not necessarily have to be done that early. I have TriCare and Aenta. My Aetna has an exclusion and the TriCare covers it.  Dr. Shina is very thorough and I find it really reassuring. I know it was a long process for me, and I had some other set backs with family illnesses, but I coped with frustration knowing that the doc has my best interest in mind.
That being said my insurance requires certain information to submit or you will be denied.  So, if I were you I would contact your insurance and get what exactly they require from the surgeon for submission.  When you call your insurance co...get your documentation...who you talked to how they spell their names, their number and extension and then have them send you the info hard copy in the mail.  That way you will see the requirements in hard copy and can check them off as you go.
Many inusurances also require a 6 month DOCTOR SUPERVISED diet, and the requirements will tell you if you need it.
I wish you the very best of luck on your journey. And Dr. Shina is very easy to talk to.
