PLEASE HELP!!! I do great during the day, but come around 8p.m. it seems like all I want to do is snack, snack, and snack.  I've tried somethings on my own: cleaning house, coming here to OH, reading, going to the bowling place in town and playing, go for walks, drinking water bottle after water bottle etc.  but nothing ever helps.  I try to pick healthly snacks when I do snack, but sometimes I want something sweet, and not healthly.  I am losing weight, but I think if i stop snacking I would lose much more.
if anyone can give me some ideas thank you. i am willing to try anything. husband works until 3 or 4 in the morning and i stay up until he comes home, so sometimes i need to fight snacking until then. so someone please give me some ideas. thank you

Guilty here too.
I have been trying to eat more at dinner and when I snack at night - I try to make it high protein.
Like nuts, cheeses, a meat and cheese wrap on a high protein tortilla or a cup of chili............something that will even seem like another meal instead of constant grazing.

You are more woman than I !  I would die if I sat up that late!  LOL

In hindsight - maybe you need sleep instead of food!  When I used to work the night shift, I would want to eat all the time - maybe to help me stay awake or maybe because I was depriving my body of something it needed (sleep), I was replacing it with food..............hmmmmm.  Just a thought.

When I want sweets I eat the sugared pecans (made with splenda), protein bar, popsicles (sf), hot cocoa (sf), sliced apples, or sometimes I try something sour like pickles. It will cut that sweet craving alot of times.

If you stay up until 3 or 4 am no wonder you get hungry at night!  I'd consider shifting your meal times to a little later in the evening.  If you are going to eat at 8pm anyway you may as well make that dinner time.

Also, if you are going to snack make it a smart snack and have SOLID porteins.  A boiled egg, a string cheese stick or maybe some turkey pepperoni slices.  That crunchy salty stuff goes down too quick and easy.  I have great restriction but can eat a whole medium bag of movie popcorn by myself but 1/2 a chicken breast and i'm ready to pop!

A lady on the band board used a trick to keep from blindly snacking at night.  She ALWAYS had tuna as her snack and then if she wanted something after that (she didn't) she would allow it.  She said this did two things....if she really wasn't hungry she'd skip it all together because she was tired of the damn tuna and if she was hungry enough to eat the tuna she'd fill up on that and not want the other junk!  Either way though she rarely ate the junk snacks!
