OT Today is a bittersweet day

My youngest daughter has left the nest to venture out on her own for the first time, completely alone no boyfriend or roommate.   I am sad to see her leave and yet happy at the same time.

I think I will miss the kittykats more than anything cause they kept me company and slept with me and entertained me with their little romper room playing.

So I and hubby are officially empty nesters now..  Have a good week

(((BIG HUGS))) for you Vicki!  I'll say a prayer for her that she enjoys every minute of being on her own.  I know I wouldn't be the independent woman I am today if I didn't have that experience.  Living alone proved to me that I didn't need a man to do things around the house.  Now, I'M the one who installs the new electronics that we get and I have a bigger tool box than my husband! (That was compliments of my Dad...he wanted his daughter to be an independent girl, too!)

Vicki, best wishes for your baby girl as she goes out into the world on her own!  I hope you will find that being an empty nester has some real good things going for ya!  You and Bob can have a real opportunity to enjoy each other's company again and that's a great relationship to have.  Happy end to 2008 for y'all!

I agree with Kelly...this will be a good experience for Bobbi! I moved out at 16 and yes it was hard, but I learned alot from it and that has carried with me through the years! Be proud that she is trying this and on her own to boot! You can aleays get another kitty...think Ashes will be ok with that?

To be totally on your own is an experience that will help her grow in so many ways!  TO have to be responsible for EVERYTHING is so empowering although a little bit of a bummer at times I will admit.

Bobbi is experiencing something I never really did get to do myself.  In college, I did have an apartment with a roommate for a year and then moved back home.  I didn't move out again until I got married to the first hubby.  When I left the first hubby I came right back home.  I did get an apartment of my very own after about 6 months of being back under my parent's roof but met Richard the night before I was to move in and we've never spent more than 2 days apart since 8-1-99 so I don't think that really counts even though I kept that apartment for 3 months before I moved in with him.

Just think, now you and Bob can walk around the house naked if you are so inclined and you don't have to worry about getting caught.....wait....you still have grandbabies next door right??

Vicki,

I remember how hard was when my son moved out.  It was one of the best learning experiences he could have had.  Then, he moved back.  Then, he moved out, etc.  He also took his dog.  So I went to the shelter and got a dog but then his girlfriend, now wife, didn't want the dog so he moved the dog in with us.  So now I have 2 dogs, not to mention the houseful of cats.

What about the stray cat you found?  Did she take it too?  Hope everything gets back to normal soon.
