That's the morning I told Richard and Gracie that ANYTHING left over from the Christmas stockings and other goodies were getting fed to the electric pig (disposal)!  They (and I ) had better enjoy the next two days because momma is drawing a line in the sand come Monday morning!

I asked Richard when he thought we should get up off our DUFF and get back on the wagon.  His respnse....Monday.....after NEW YEARS!!!

That would be another whole freakin' week of junk being poured down our gullets and at least ANOTHER 5 pounds to have to work off. I'm weighing myself in a couple of days to see what the true damage is since I think there's a lot of extra water weight going on right now.

Nope, he can do what he wants but come Monday morning I'm shoveling out the junk and headed back to the YMCA!

We both have appointments with Larson on  the 13th of January (the Tuesday before the Chili bonfire) and 2 weeks of being back on track before we go in would be  good thing so we don't get read the riot act!

Come Monday I'm back to the tracking my food and exercise on the accountability post too!

I'm off to the Weigh****chers website to check into their newest program too.  A little extra motivation and accountability can only be a good thing right??

Anyone else care to join me in getting back on the straight and narrow path?

I'm considering some sort of 24 or 48 hour detox program myself....

Seriously though, I think "going back to square one" and doing a day or two of low carb-low sodium liquids and protein drinks might be a good kick-off.  I'm going to star****ching my carbs very closely and maybe lower them a little more than Jennifer and Casey at Norton's recommend for the typical diet.  I think they said to keep them under 150 grams.  I'm thinking of lowering it to 100 grams and upping the protein to at least 75 grams.

Other than that I'm going to get my M-W-F YMCA routine back and on the alternate days I'll use my Wii Fit which we haven't even opened yet!!

Oh yeah, I'm going to get back in the swing of things on here which always helps me with motivation.

Any other ideas?

I'm getting back on track too.  Didn't think I did too bad during Christmas but the scales thought differently.  I'm going to the gym 3 days a week and treadmill the other two days either at home or at the gym.  I've found that exercise really curbs my appitite so tomorrow I start again.

Count me in!  Okay, I know I haven't had surgery YET...but I am weighing in at the Dr's and she did say she wanted me to make an effort.  I have 2 months left with her weigh in's (Jan and Feb) and then hope to have the band surgery in March or April.  So, I'd like to lose some between now and then (get a head start! ).   My work is starting a weigh-in contest thing for 3 months (Jan - Mar...spring break), so I think I will join that as well.
Let's do this!!

I was sooo relieved to read your post....you know "misery loves company"....and I have been soooo off track......I am writing this from a hotel in Savannah....guess where we ate lunch??? Paula Deen's "Lady & Son's" restaurant!!! For those of you NOT familiar with Paula Deen, she's the queen of Southern cuisine....has a show on the Food Network, etc.  The food was wonderful & to be honest, I wish I had been able to eat MORE!!! I think the band is a wonderful tool....and it kept me from losing all control......
We drive home tomorrow & I will be back on track....I desperately need to do the food tracking & exercising....I am back as a member of WW & will go to face the scale on Sat a.m.....which really makes me want to do better. SOOOO...good luck everyone...a New Year means a new start...but we DON'T have to wait for Thursday!!  Best wishes to ALL of you!!

Paula is an amazing woman. I found her book one dayat a goodwill and read it! She rocks in my eyes. She can come up with some healthy stuff too! I watch her all the time and have alot of her recipes. I will say I am proud of myself...I did not make her pecan praline french toast casserole this year. It is soooo gooodddd but also soooo fattening!  A zillion calories in a serving I am sure! Damn...my mouth is watering now! Lol
