Any advice for a "stall" ??
Monday will be my two month post op. I have lost 47 pounds so far. Almost 2 1/2 weeks ago the weight loss came to a screeching halt. I have only lost 3 pounds in that 2 1/2 weeks. The only thing I am doing differently is that I am exercising now every two days. I do 20 minutes on the treadmill and then work with weight machines on my arms and abs.
I keep hearing that a "stall" is normal but this seems to be going longer than seems normal. Also that you can lose inches and not pounds... I have measured and I am not losing a big amount of inches either.
Anyone have a similar experience? Or any idea how to get the weight loss going again?
This is really getting me down.

Leah,
Everyone is different but everyone is the same. What I mean is that everyone has stalls but not everyone has them at the same time. I hit a slump at the same time I was released to "regular" food and was sure that I spent $25,000 to lose 35 pounds. But (since I really had no choice****pt control of my food choices and portion control and stopped getting on the scale. I went to my regular doc for a diabetes checkup and was informed that I was overweight. This is a good thing since I had been obese for so long. Down 65 pounds and feeling excellent. Give the tool time to work and don't worry.
Walk, sip, walk, sip, smile.

push the fluids - I'm in a stall right now too and plan on drinking more fluids to get the glycogen stores moving
I owed it to myself to research the duodenal switch before consenting to any other weight loss surgery and so do you. Check out DSFacts.com and DuodenalSwitch.com for more information. Remember think twice, cut once, revisions are risky and revision surgeons are rare.

My best advice would to to not fret and wait it out. It's my belief that our bodies just naturally try to hang onto the pounds a little harder from time to time. Also, if you aren't already start tracking your intake start doing it. I find that when I do this the answer to my stall is sometimes revealed. Usually either my food choices are not the best and/or my pure water consumption is down.
Gotta tell ya though, 47 pounds in two months is AWESOME no matter what type of surgery you had (I didn't check before I started typing).
Mostly though, don't gret too much and wait it out.....it will start up again!

Thanks Becka!! I do keep a food journal to monitor what I am doing food wise. Its a pain in the butt but I do it.
I was so used to seeing those numbers going down on the scale. It was a real rush for me.
Now I have to be more realistic and not worry so much.
Worrying is a no brainer for me. LOL
But I am sure working on it!
