made it thru surgery
Well, I made it thru the gallbladder surgery. When they went in, they found I had a hernia close to my bellybutton, so Dr. Wheeler had to repair that too. OMG the pain is horrible!!! I am hurting so bad behind my bellybutton!!! I planned on working tomorrow, but no way!!!
I have to say I am glad the kids were out of school today, that took a load off of my mind because I was so worried about them getting up and getting on the bus with us in Ashland--had to be there at 7am.
Like last Thursday, they had a little trouble getting the IV in. This time I only had to have one, so it took three sticks to get it. So my grand total of IV sticks is TEN!!!! My arms and hands are so pitiful...
OH GUESS WHAT!!!! I finally got my local doctor to write a letter to help with my appeal!!!! I am excited!! I am going to write an appeal letter too and mail it out as soon as possible. I hope and pray that this time they approve me!!
Please keep me in your prayers......

Hi Connie,
Those hernia repairs are a bear! I had an incisional hernia at my navel from a failed suture line when I had my tubes tied. That surgery to this day remains the longest one it took me to recuperate from. After the first couple of days though it was livable. The part that took the longest for me was being able to sleep comfortably. I think it was over a month before I was able to sleep in my bed all night. Because of that I was always tired too so I'm sure that was part of the problem. It was all worth it though to have a belly button once again!
Congrats on getting the doc to write an appeal letter. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

I owed it to myself to research the duodenal switch before consenting to any other weight loss surgery and so do you. Check out DSFacts.com and DuodenalSwitch.com for more information. Remember think twice, cut once, revisions are risky and revision surgeons are rare.

Wow.. isn't it amazing how things like a hernia and gallbladder removal can hurt so bad!! And then all the bruises have to heal from the surgery and all the iv sticks!
Glad you are home and I am sending good thoughts and prayers your way> Hoping your drs letter will help with your appeal and you get positive results for that soon!!
Blessings to you all, Leah
