GOING FORWARD

OK, I am done with being pissed, now I am determined!!! I am going ahead with having the filter put in my leg and my gallbladder removed. I have to be back at KDMC at 6:30 in the morning and then I have my gallbaldder surgery on the 25th. I am trying to get my doctor that I went to for six months to write a letter and help me with the appeal. This is what the denial letter said:

"Since the clinical information fails to document participation in a structured, physician-supervised exercise program for 6 months along with the regimiem of dietary restrictions, the request cannot be approved at the current time." 

Yep, that is the reason for being denied. Hopefully I can win the appeal and I will already have the two procedures out of the way. If anyone has any suggestions to help with the appeal, please let me know!

Hey Connie,

So you've already done a 6 month supervised diet w/ an MD?
If so, he/she should be able to type you up a nice letter stating that and stating the advice you were given ex. low cal/high protein  and exercise 3x per week ..   That should take care of it.. Unless they mean in your progress notes your family doctor did not document you were doing a supervised diet...

it sounds to me like, all your medical info wasn't turned in, take the letter to the girls at the weight loss center, and let them read it, and see if they can help you, sounds like they just didn't get enough information from the weight loss team!! good luck
