PLEASE i need some help.  i am almost 6 months out and i have only lost 47 pounds. and it seems like i been at a plateau for the last 2 to 3 weeks.  i've only had 2 fills.  I skipped my 3 fill because i felt like i was resticted. i go on Thursday to get my 3 fill!!! but i feel like i should be down more then 47 pounds by now.  i been reading post where people who got the lap band around the same time as i did, are far more then i am.  if anyone has any ideas that i can "restart" losing again, would you please let me know.  thank you

Believe me, I know the feeling!!!  I feel like I am in the same boat with you.  Skipped my 3rd fill and then plateaued at that weight.  Had my 3rd fill a week ago Thursday, notice my surgery date & surgeon, and have had a little more restriction and have gotten back to what it says on my ticker.  I am convinced that I'm not getting the exercise I was back in the summer and perhaps that's the key.  So I'm up early this morning dancing around the house before 7 a.m. Remember, everyone's different in their wl journey.  I have to remind myself of that daily or I'd go bananas with envy over the success of others.  I've also noticed lately that I need to get back to more water, so there's another thought for you.  I'm not eating too badly and there's where the frustration comes in.      So, hang in there, and check in here frequently AND remember whatever worked to get those 47 pounds off worked, so get going again.  Hopefully this Thursday's fill will be a big help to you!!!

47lbs and 6 months is something to be proud of!!!
Everyone is different and we all are going to plateau at sometime or another....

Remember exercise, water and protein..... If your exercising, change your routine up alittle... if your eating the same foods all the time change those up too.. Your body gets used to the "routine" so give it a shock!

Hey, Lee Ann and I also have appts with Dr. Allen on Thursday.. What time is yours???

hey Butterfly...words of advice...would you have lost that weight without the band? I ask this of myself everytime I hit a plateau and it seems to reinforce that this is on me and I can do it and must be doing something right to have gotten where I am! You can do this. Water and exercise really help me to move off plateaus...give it a shot. Sandi and I have appts that am....when is yours? Maybe we can talk to ya and share.....let us know!

Thanks for writing, I too am stuck! The last three days I have been eating much more than I should. After 2 fills I feel no restriction at all. My exercise is very good, but it is like my head has forgotten my band. Has anyone ever gone back to liquids to kind of restart the weigh loss as well as getting my mind back on track. I really don't want to start the holidays up in weight. My next fill isn't until Dec. 19.

IMO

Although we all want this excess weight off NOW and are eager to begin out "new" lives it simply doesn't work that way.

I finally came to realize that for myself and now I firmly believe this whole weight loss thing is a LIFE PROCESS where we will have ups and downs more than once.  So long as well don't give up (and have patience) it will continue to work.

At my six month point I was PO'd at myself because I was not at the 50 pound mark (I was at 49...GRRR!) and then just a couple of weeks ago I was PO'd again that I wasn't at the 75 pound mark for my 1 year point (I was at 73...GRRRR!!).  I want to have this last 30 pounds off by my 18 month point but even if it takes me 24 months I'll still get there!

I KNOW it will come off if I keep working for it.  I also know that I don't have my heart in it 100% right now and that's what's holding me back.

Do you still have restriction?  Get this next fill and use it as a new start!  Most of all though, don't beat yourself up and remind yourself....it's a life process and even skinny people have ups and downs so why can't we?
