Hello Everyone!

Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Tiffany, i'm 24, and hopefully I will be having RNY in the next couple of months. I am a military wife Fort Knox. I am currently 317 lbs with a bmi o**** I have been assigned (through Tricare ins.) to University Surgery Associates in Louisville. They are connected to Norton Bariatric. I attended their seminar on Nov 1, got my packet submitted, and am now  waiting for that call. I didn't know that this was so nerve racking!!

So thats me. I am just looking for people to talk to and maybe find a surgery buddy!!!

  Welcome to the KY board, Tiffany!  Several people here go to USA.  I was just down there this afternoon for my 3rd fill, (Lapband this past April), and find the people there are usually quite helpful and professional.  Be prepared to approach this with patience, because it usally takes time to get all the paperwork and tests done.  Congrats on your decision to have WLS!!!  I bet you're gonna love it!!! Keep us updated with your progress for approval!

Welcome!!! We are in Campbellsville and was just up there today at Ft Knox going to the commissary!
Yes it's definately not an "overnight" thing.. I started the process in Jan and Finally got my surgery the end of Aug.. Patience Patience and Persistance too!!!! But it's definately worth it. Have you picked a surgeon yet?

Hi Tiffany...welcome to the board! I also advise patience! I was told 6 months from seminar to surgery date and that was pretty much right on the money! Glad to see you making this first step....Feel free to jump in and post....we love to gab, ask, compare notes , and just about any other thing we can!

Welcome to the Ky Board Tiffany.   I am a patient of Dr. Rodriquez he is one of the Dr's in the USA group that your going through... Even though you have not gotten a date yet or had surgery I highly suggest you attend the support group next Tues same place were you had your Seminar at 6PM  hope you can come and join us we have a blast, some of us(not mentioning names) tends to get a little crazy but we just have some much fun

Thanks so much everyone! Well I was a little in front of the power curve. My PCM started ordering tests that she knew (or thought) I would need so I have had a full blood panel, H. Pylori, Pulmonary Function, Cardiac Stress test (11/11), and Sleep Study(no date yet). I am prepared for the wait. Since I am a college student I am either going to be hoping for a date sometime in Dec/Jan or waiting until June/July.... I am so excited and known to be a very patient person. I got a call today and was told that everything in my packet was complete, so they are just waiting for a time to get me in to the first office visit.  They said the head nurse will not be back in till Tues, so I should get a call around then. I am not required to have the 6 month diet so I am ready to get it going!!! 

I haven't picked a surgeon. I just told them the first avaliable surgeon was good for me. I investigated all of them, and only really don't want to go to Dr. Tanner due to him being at my seminar and being a HUGE believer in the Lap Band. That is not what I want and I don't want someone trying to convince me. Well, thats all for now!! :)
