Hi Everyone!
I have emailed back and forth with a few of you in the last few weeks/months but I wanted to introduce myself to everyone. You all seem like a very laid back group here -- my type of people!
Of course, that is if you will have me! I actually live in Southern Indiana, but I figured I am closer to most people in KY than in IN.
I hang out mostly on the DS board right now, because that is the surgery I am hoping to have. I was approved YESTERDAY! Now I just have to wait for the date!
I would love to get to know all of you better, and hopefully be able to participate in some of the events and get togethers!

Hi Sharon, nice to meet you! I just moved over to S. Indiana 2 years ago when I met my husband. He lived over there and I lived over in Louisville.....ahhh the sacrifices! hehe just kidding. I love it over there. I work in Louisville so I get the best of both worlds I suppose.
I was reading the other post where you were talking about your surgery tomorrow. I know you are nervous but you will be fine and well on your road to a new and improved you! You're normal. It's all so exciting and scary at the same time. I have been through this once before (LapBand) so I kinda know what to expect this next time around. I will be thinkin about you tomorrow!

Hi Jenn and welcome!
You'll find the KY board to be laid back, supportive and non-combative! Sort of like an oasis away from our specific surgical boards where we get to duke things out if we wish!
There are a couple of DSers who post on here and several RNY and then there's us bandsters! We all live in harmony! Those of us around the Louisville area tend to get together every so often and just hang out! We'd love to add another person to our roster!
Hope to see more of you on here and CONGRATS on your approval! I hear Dr. Inman is one of the best!

I have read some posts over the last few days and it sounds like you guys truly care for eachother. That's hard to find!
I can relate a lot to the band stuff because I had a band for 3 years -- actually Dr. Larson did mine too! I had it removed due to ongoing complications -- that is why I am going with the DS this time around.
Thanks for the congrats! I'd love to get together with some other people that understand (fully) what I'm going through. That would be fun!

Hi Jenn, I am close I am sure. I live in Jeffersonville and that is about as Southern Indiana as you can get I think. lol. without falling in the river. except for Clarksville and New Albany We love to have you on the board and we have a lot of get togethers and you should come to support group with us sometime.... we are a crazy bunch of nuts but who cares we have fun gotta watch LeeAnn she will grab you the minute you walk in support we only let her out 2 times a month and she gets so excited..... she is the welcome wagon...
