Newbie just wanting to say Hello!
I just wanted to introduce myself an say hello
to everyone. I just attended my 1st seminar Oct. 16th. An turned in my first packet of information an got my call today from the hospital setting up my first appointment for Nov.3rd. I was just wondering if you all could tell me what to expect the 1st appointment an over the next few months. I'm going to be going to Kings Daughters in Ashland an I choose Dr.Wheeler as my surgeon on the forms I filled out. So any info would be great. Thanks everyone!

Hi and welcome to the board.
I used Dr. Tompkins at KDMC and had RNY Feb. 25, 2008. I am 8 months post - op and VERY pleased with my results.
I had a psych eval, met with a nutritionist, and did an exercise eval. I was also scheduled for lab work and an ultrasound of my gall bladder. Then I had to get a pap smear because it had been over a year since my last one.
Once you get the appts. out of the way, they will submit you for insurance approval. Every insurance is different. From the time I went to my very first educational seminar to my date, the total wait time was 3 months and 1 week.
Every person is different, you may have some medical issues that he may want to test first also.
Just be patient and enjoy the journey!
