Greetings all! Just thought i would try and get involved with the forums. Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Jay and Im from Leitchfield! Right now im on Month three of my six month pre-op evaluation. This seems like it's taking forever! I've lost a whole eleven pounds since i've started my diet. I was hoping, when I weighed in this morning, that I would have lost more but, at least I havent gained any weight. If anyone has any advice they would like to give, please do.
Hi, I am Trina, I live in Brandenburg... not too far from Leitchfield. I had to do the 6month diet also however, I gained when I was doing... I think it was stress and nerves!!! But I had my surgery on 10/3 and as of yesterday I am down 21 pounds!! So just keep doing what you are dong and your surgey will be done before you know it!!!

Congratulations on getting the process started on your new life. Hopefully your 6 month diet/exercise will go quickly for you. I only had to do 3 months. While the first 2 went quickly, the third seemed like a year....maybe because I have NO patience whatsoever!
What type of surgery are you looking into having and what surgeon are you using? My husband & I both had RNY, I used Dr. Shina & he used Dr. Gellar, both are in Lousiville.
It definitely was the best decision we ever made.

Congrats on choosing WLS, I know it seems to take forever to get through all the red tape, but in the end, it will be worth it.
I have no regrets!!!!!
I live in Prestonsburg and am far away from you....I think. I am originally from VA, but have worked and lived here for 5 1/2 years............still don't feel like I know "KY" very well.

Hey there! I am a newbie to the site too... well sort of...I just now started posting. I had to do the 6 month thing, and I gained weight too. The wait was hard because it didn't seem like it was really going to happen. However, I'm glad I stuck it out because my surgery will be Nov. 14th...woooohhhoooooo Hang in there.....
