So here is the post for the walk from August.  It has the link and all the information on here for signing up for the walk on Sunday!  Hopefully this will be a great weather weekend for the fun that we are going to have.  We also need to decide on where and what time we want to meet up.  Any suggestions?  Please let me know!  Thanks!

Ok, so here it is......I have formed a team for us as of right now.  You can click on the link below and search for a team, and then you can join our team.  Right now, our team name is  "OH Losers"  And you will have to search for the team name and then click join.  When you join, and register to walk, it will ask you several questions, then you have the opportunity to start the donations if you would like, to get the team money started.  I didn't set us a very large goal, in case you all don't care to do any fundraising.  That is up to you.  I personally will be sending out e-mails to all my family and friends, as I did during the Relay for Life event in July.  It is just one of the many ways I like to raise money for the cause.  I didn't make a personal donation when I registered, and you don't have to at all if you don't want to.  I just don't want everyone to think that I am all about the $$$$.  I thought this would be a great way to get some excercise, and spend time with great friends all for a great cause too.

Anyway, here is the link to click on.  And the teams' name is
OH Losers    I can change it later if anyone comes up with something great and catchy! LOL Just let me know!

You do not need to fill out a registration form if you have signed up on-line, but we do ask that you stop by to check-in for the walk. If you have money to turn in, please bring to the registration tent. If you have walkers with you that have not signed up online, please have them fill out a registration form (available at this tent).

~ There is free parking along River Road, in the Witherspoon Garage (which is only going to be accessible from River Road), in the Riverside Parking area around the Louisville Slugger Stadium, in the Waterfront Park Orange and Purple Lots and on Main Street (east of Floyd St).  There is pay parking at 1st and Main Street.  The costs for pay parking will be anything from $3-5.

~ Do not park in the Human Garage (on the corner of Washington and Brook) This garage will be blocked and those that park there cannot exit until approximately 4:45pm (when the walk is over).

~ To make the day enjoyable for all those walking please no dogs, horses or animals of any kind. No skateboards, bikes or roller blades.

~ You may bring strollers or small wagons

~ Handicap accessible

~ No registration fee – but we are encouraging individuals to give and or collect donations since this is a fundraising event for breast cancer programs and research.

Before we get together to honor our survivors and celebrate the progress we’ve made in the fight against breast cancer, we want to thank you one more time for lending your time and energy to the American Cancer Society. There are not enough words to express our appreciation!

Why is Making Strides a success? Because of people like you!

So thank you - and see you this weekend!

Sincerely,

Laura Kazee
