i want a new family.

all my life my parents and sister have been embarrest by me since i was the fat one in the family, never having any encouraging words, well yesterday i saw them for the first time in months, do you think they had any thing nice to say about my weight loss NO, yes i have finally lost 100 pounds since january 14th, my sister made the remark [ i wouldnt want to look like that] so now instead of embaresment i have to live with jealousy, why cant we all just get along and be happy? atleast i am so blessed to have a husband that tells me everyday how wonderful i look and how proud he is of me. so is there anyone that would like to adopt a 47 year old baby? im potty trained.

That is so mean. I would ignore them. What did your sister mean by that remark?  She wouldn't want to look like what?  Healthy?  I would adopt you but I have enough kids already!!  lol.  Sounds like you need to stick with your hubby. I would compliment you too but you would probably enjoy it more coming from him!!!   

well I say gibe yourself a pat on the back, and ignore the family that is like that, my sister is the only one that says anything negative at all, and it really isn't negative, she doesn't say anything at all, since I weigh less that her now, she don't even ask how much have you lost anymore, and it doesn't bother me, I am proud of myself and you should be too, don't let it bother you, or eat at you, if you are anything at all like me, letting things bother you got you overweight in the first place.
   let your hubby do all the complimenting for all of your family, lol.

you can be my new sister!  Sorry you had to go through that, just hold your head up and know that you have done the best thing for your health.  Really if you think about it, it is your sister and Mom that are missing out.  Missing out on having a close relationship with you rather than alienating you by insults.  Feel sorry for them.

I'd love another sister!  I'll adopt you!  Here is a preview of what I would say to you:
"Wow!  You look fabulous!  Can I have your old clothes?!"
"How much have you lost so far?  You look like you're working hard!"
"You are so pretty...you must get your good looks from me!"  (HA!)
See, now doesn't that seal the deal?  Huh, sis? 
Really, congrats on the 100 pounds lost.  Keep up the HARD work!!

I dont have any blood sisters(that i know of) so ill be your sister.
You know i come from a really disfunctional family but we love each other.
Both sides of my family are big so they made me their hero for going thru with the surgery.
Hey some of them live there in carrollton right across the river from you,so next time im down that way come meet your new family sis..

Well, it's looks like you've got a gaggle of honorary sisters already!!  Can I be one too??

I know how it is to want positive praise from people that simply can't or won't give it.  I'm sure you'll always love your family but look elsewhere for those warm fuzzies or you'll be doing this    more than you need to!


I think we need to have a slumber party!!  I'll bring the nail polish!!

First of all, congrats on the weight loss!  That is WONDERFUL.
Second, I will adopt you! 

No way can I explain why your family is acting the way they are.  
The best advice I can give was also given to me :    Surround yourself with positive people!!!!! 

I know we have to see family members once in while or during holidays at a minimum.  Try to make it work.  Stay upbeat, and don't let them get you down!!!  Even when they say negative things, stay positive.  Like when your sister made the comment "I wouldn't want to look like that"...........simply say, "Funny that you should say that because I LOVE the way I look and I feel better than I have ever felt in my life".  Then simply walk off or change the subject!
Keep up the good work and don't let no one get you down!!!!

thank you all for your support, i see i have a wonderful oh family, i should know by now that i need to please myself and stop trying to please them, for i feel in my heart i will never be good enough for them. and the slumber party sounds like fun ive never been to one.
