I quit smoking!!

Well, after talking to Dr. Geller's office, I found out you have to now take a tobacco test and if you have smoked within the last 30 days, it will show it, and you will not be able to have surgery.  So, one week ago today I quit smoking!  I went from 1 1/2 packs a day to zero!  I must say wellbutrin helped a lot with that.  I hope this shows the doctors that I am really serious about getting this surgery and I am taking steps to prepare.  Not gonna lie, I miss my Camel Lights, but its worth it.  Now I just got to pass all the psych stuff.  Have a good day all!

Congrats! That is a true example for Dr Geller. You can do it, just take it one day at a time. I quit 8 years ago and it was a struggle, but for WLS it is sooo worth it.

I think that is awesome!!! I have never smoked, bu****ched my mother quit a 3 pack of malboro reds day habit and decided there and then I would never smoke. She still misses the smell of smoke (UGH!!) but knows that her sense of smell is markedly better.  I KNOW what you did takes deication and determination. KUDOS to you! You picked a really good time too as my mom put on 65 pounds when she quit. Hopefully you will have kicked the addiction and won't have that issue after surgery.

  Congratulations, secamp05!!!  I know that quitting is not easy.  I smoked many years ago and long afterward still wanted them even though I knew they were harmful to my health.  Now, instead of "walking a mile for a Camel", you can just walk a mile for better health!  If you can do this, I bet you can be successful at WLS!  Best wishes for better health!!!
