Good morning , so much good news on the message board, goals met, exercise done and approvals given. I'm pressed for time , but want you all to know how happy I am for you.
Wed is my 5 week post op and I still have a few incision issues. Thery are just not healed yet. Red, no fever and occassionally draing a little.Because I can't get to Nortons's this week, I'm going to see PCP today. We are leaving for our first little trip since banding and I'm thrilled to death. I know fast foods will be a part of the trip so welcome any ideas. Exercise is going pretty well although I seem to go in spurts, alot one day then off one day. Hope everyone jhas a great  losers week.

Hope you have a wonderful and safe trip!
As far as fast foods go, here are some things that worked best for me:

Burger King - Veggie Burger minus the bun and mayo!
Long John Silvers or Capt. D's - any grilled fish option
Taco Bell - side of refried beans
Mexican - Grilled shrimp
Chinese - shrimp or salmon option minus the rice
Italian - Soup
Subway - Soup

For the road I usually take a bag of protein bars, SF pudding cups, and tuna packs in case everyone else wants to eat somewhere that I don't have healthy options!

Take Care.  Hope your incisions get to healing soon!

Sounds like you might have some internal sutures trying to work their way out!  Definately get them looked and and likely go on an antibiotic for a few days.  I was a bonehead and didn't get mine looked at when they got red and angry and as a result one is going to stay more visibly scarred.

My travel foods are:

Wendy's:  chili
Chick-fil-a:  Grilled salad or a grilled snawich and toss the bun
McDonalds:  grilled snack wrap (not ALL that healthy) or a grilled chic salad
Taco bell:  anything off the FRESCO menu....read their NUT info for what works best for you
Arby's:  eat the meat and toss the bun

take-a-longs:

string cheese
turkey or low-fat beef jerky
protein bars
tuna in the pouch (no draining required)
almonds
pre-mixed protein drinks

Have fun on your trip and bring back some great stories!!!

I love wendys chili....easy on the tummy and always fills me up! No crackers! I ate beef jerky on Sat in all my running and was shocked at the low calories, high protein, and even though its awful chewy...you can break it down to mush. By the time you chew it up...you feel full! Thats one way to stretch out those meals! Take lots of water as well!
The incision is really something you need to get checked out! My first one scarred so bad from infection (like Becka said) that when he opened me up to do the revision, he recut it and it healed much better the second time around. I used the butterfly bandages to help hold it together until the redness was gone and it was healed. I also washed it with dial antibacterial liquid soap 4-5 times a day and put neosporin ointment on it after I placed the strips. It worked. the only prob I had was a couple ends of internal stitches poked up through and a friend of mine (who is a nurse) snipped them off shorter. They eventually pulled themselves back in with the shortened length. Do not try this yourself though! I figured with my crappy eyesight I would cut my scar open myself! Get them checked out though! Can't be too safe ya know!  Be careful out there!
