Pre-Op testing?
Hello all! Hope everyone had a good weekend. So, tuesday I have my assement at the norton bariatric center. For those of you who have been there, will I know when I leave the center if I am approved for surgery? Also, I plan on using Dr. Geller for my surgeon- for those of you who have had him, or one of the other docs associated with norton, what are the pre-op tests that you have to go through? Is that something that is done by several different docs, or can ur pcp do them? Thanks!
doctors are different. No you will not know when you leave--- there is a great deal and there should be as you need to be psychologically prepared. Mine wants h-pilori, blood work, cardio, pulmonolgy and my medical history and the psyc and nut consults. Some docs require tabacco testing too. Insurrance dictates how much of a preop diet you do...many require 6 months medically supervised. I had to have them done at different docs...psyc and nut are the docs and the others I do with my own docs or pcp recommendations.
Good luck!
