Trying to get all this before surgery any help would be great as to what vitamins to take and what kind of protein shakes are good and where you get them at. Also does anyone drink slim fast? If so is that a replacement for one of your meals? Or is that considered a protein shake?

I've been using the Slim Fast LOW CARB shakes.. they are 20grams of protein per shake. I can tolerate them.
I've also been using the Flinstones Chewable Vitamins!
Good Luck!

I take my prenatals still...also a B complex with added B12  and biotin for hair loss. I am not sure if the biotin really works...but I know for the last three years my hair has been coming out more and more and now it has slowed and I have alot of new growth!

I use Viactiv caramel soft chews for vitamins.  They don't have any iron in them so if that's something your MD wants you to have as well you still have to supplement.  They are also 20 calories a piece but, they are yummy and won't get stuck!

I've pretty much been usung the sugar free Carnation Instant Breakfast when I need to have a protein drink to boost my daily totals when needed.  It has 5 grams of protein and then when you add in the skim milk that's another 8gram for a total of 13 grams.

When I was drinking the protein regularly though I was fairly happy with the Unjury VANILLA powders.  I'd add it to flat diet root beer or flat diet orange.....tasted like a float!

For Chocolate my preference was EAS MYOPLEX pre-mixed bottles.  You can get those at GNC or Sam's Club.

Unjury medical protein. Slim fast is a no no because of sugar content and carbs. Protein drinks are meal replacements.

I usually do protein drink in the morning since my band tends not to like solids in the AM.  I have three that I switch around with,  Wheybolic Extreme60 - SlimScript Soy Protein - Lean Muscle Meal - I am not picky about liquids so its not about the taste however it is about the protein for me.
After being banded I started taking Centrium Liquid so I have continued to take it.  Tried the chewables and did not like them.

I take 4 multi's a day, plus extra D,A and calcium.  I am really into protein shakes, not as meal replacements but because protein keeps your body strong and healthy.  I try to get three in a day along with all my regular food for the day.  I have tried practically everything on the market and my favorites are the Champion Pro Whey Stack Chocolate and Banana Scream.  I mix the chocolate in 4 oz of water and shake, add to glass with ice and use a straw, mix the banana up with 4 oz mil**** and straw.  The taste is great, the chocolate tastes like Yoohoo.

Slim fast is a bad one imho because of the sugars.
I owed it to myself to research the duodenal switch before consenting to any other weight loss surgery and so do you.  Check out DSFacts.com and DuodenalSwitch.com for more information.  Remember think twice, cut once, revisions are risky and revision surgeons are rare.

I wouldn't buy up to much because your taste may change after surgery. I like Isopure low carb protein in the  dutch chocolate. It is a little higher priced but it has vitamins and minerals in it. It's  cheapest on ebay.

My surgeon has a couple different vitamins he recomends, I take optisource bariatric chewable multi vitamins. I get them from walgreens on line, but they do have them in the store as well.  I also take a sublingual b-12 and biotin.
