Ticker help!

I am trying to get all fancy and have my weight loss ticker and exercise ticker side by side but eveytime I try to apply it I get what you see below! What am I doing wrong???????  Arrggghhhhh

You have to compress the 2 smaller side by side

Ok...I need another course in computers for dummies I guess. So how do I compress?
