You are right..no one was knocking anyone on here...just voicing opinions. No one stated on here that anyone else was knocking anyone on here either.  People read too much into what others say....their interpretation, so to speak.....just take it for what they are saying. Some can handle things others can't and vice versa.  It is all about choices...... Alot of RNY  patients have told me they cannot handle the sugars in some bars....others prefer a meal in lieu of a bar.....its all about choices and lifestyles. I know for me I have a hard time actuallty getting to sit down and eat a meal in the morning so a bar is perfect for me. But at lunch......I want a meal. I agree with Chris that I want to feel like I actually had a meal.  Everyone is different and yes...we should all be able to voice our lifestyles...that is how I learned about alot of things with this weight loss surgery...by hearing and considering everyone's opinion. What a better way to learn....through their own personal knowledge! I learned so much more about RNY from a group than I ever imagined. The restrictions or intolerances are so different than lapbanders....same as the DS patients. I think its great we have this forum to share and compare on!

Good grief.....I typed terrible, in my defense...I was in a hurry.   lol

I am learning tons about the band...my hubby had it in June, but he is trying to eat much like a RNYer.  I figure why not?..we eat meats, fresh veggies (now that it's summer) and fruits.

Well gonna hit the hay..bad evening

tomorrow is another day.

Yep....I agree.  We gotta do what works best for each of us individually.  I certainly hope I didn't upset anyone....just wanted to put another opinion out there.

I know that I can't do protein bars all the time because I'm afraid of  becoming to reliant on them.  I also won't touch 'real' candy even in bite size pieces.  I know it's a trigger and if I get started with even one piece....look out!!  LOL

I admire those that can eat one piece of candy and then stop.....I've NEVER been able to do that.  I can eat one bag and stop....but never one piece!

I agree that the frozen meals certainly aren't the best choice in the world but for me they are a better choice than a protein bar.  I like having an actual meal for roughly the same calories.....makes me think I'm getting more bang for my buck, so to speak!    Usually when I do have a protein bar....my stomach is filled but my mind is saying "Well, that was a nice little snack but where is the meal??"   But when I've had a frozen meal....my mind says "Okay...you've had your meat and veggies....that means you've had a meal."    It's all a mind game!
