Twisted bar?
They are a protein bar 190 calories and 15 grams of protein you can find them at Sams Club and someone said that I think Walmart has them and maybe other stores. I get them at Sams 24 bars in a box they have carmel, peanuts, nouget, and 2 petzels on top and covered with vanilla, peanut butter and chocolate. They are so good and taste like having a candy bar
If you are not close to a Sam's Club you can order on-line from the company that makes them. They also have 2 or 3 other protein bars. Here is their web address:

I heard them mentioned here and found them at Walmart....but decided not to buy them after looking at the nutrition information. Given the calories to fat/sugar/protein ratio......I decided there are other bars out there that I'd rather have when I do want a protein bar. Pure Protein is one of my favorites.
But, for the most part, I try to avoid bars because they are so much like having a candy bar. Candy was one of my big trigger foods pre-WLS and I don't want to get back in the habit of having a candy-like food everyday. I'm afraid I'll then want to go for the 'real' thing and then there'll be no turning back!! I've worked too hard and come too far to do that to myself.
But that's just me! Everyone has their own triggers and their own nutrition plan.....

I agree with Chris, I stay away from protein bars at all cost. Tooo much like a great snack. Besides if they are that good of course they are going to have sugar and high carbs. :-(
And the question would be if I bought a box, would I only eat just one? Not me. I have no will power. If I did, I wouldn't have needed surgery.
As Chris says, that's just me. You have to know you well enough to know your triggers.

I totally agree that knowing your triggers is key to your success!
My husband is one of those that can't eat just one.....it's always two.....so I have to keep the protein bars out of his field of vision or he keeps getting drawn to them like a moth to a flame until they are gone!
Funny story.....I used to hide my daughter's Lucky Charms in an old bran flakes box because he'd have some every night as a dessert until they were gone and then she'd instinctively decide on the day the box was in the trash that she just HAD to have that specific kind of cereal for breakfast!
I, on the other hand, have learned from my years of dieting that one of my biggest triggers is feeling deprived and too regimented. This is why all my pre-WLS diets only lasted about 3 to 4 months and then the dam broke loose! Although I'm not always perfect with moderation my style of doing things this last year is working! I am trying to approach food like a skinny person and not look at any one thing as being "off limits" so long as I can show portion control and make overall good choices and for me a Twisted bar instead of a Snickers is doing just that.
The trick for each of us with weight loss (and eventually maintenance) is to find out what style works for us and keep to it! Hopefully, as the months turn into years, I can continue this style of approaching food that is working so well for me now!
Good luck to us all!

I like the prtein bars and am gonna eat them. I get alot more protein in them than I did in my lean cuisine and only 20 calories difference! I know that fat/cal/etc....are not what some people want in their diet...but if you look....really look at some of that processed crap you put into your mouths..this is sometimes the lesser of the two evils. There are worse things and there are better things to eat. Its a matter of choice. No one should knock another for chosing to eat what they eat. We are all after the same thing...weight loss. Candy is also one of my triggers...so when I want some...I go to the freezer and take out a piece of one of the bars I cut up into bite size pieces and eat it. It is better than the candy...and I am getting my protein. Its what works for me!
I was reading this thread and trying to understand where someone thought someone else was knocking another. I think it's a good idea that others out there read how everyone copes with the way the handle things. I see people giving an oppiniion on how the deal and not at all knocking what someone else does. This is a support site..I have been to many meetings where folks give these exact opinions and everyone is supportive of those..just as it should be here. And if we cannot give an opinion only agree with whatever is done..that does not make us individuals..
Good for you that you can handle these things. I am another that does not. so I chose to stay away from them. If you handle things well this way then my hat is off to you....but many of cannot and felt the need to express that.
so we all all in this for the same reason..lets listen to everyone!
