OK back from Dr. I am going to live

Well went to the Dr. and its the diverticulitis my white count was 22 and normal is between 8-10 so I am on Flagyl antibotic and I hate it cause it leaves a awful after taste no matter how I take it.  I cant  have anything with alcohol in it like cold, cough or allergy medicine in liquid form that has alcohol in it.  So got to stay healthy as far as my asthma and not get bronchitis or etc .

But he said I am going to live and have to have my blood checked again in 10 day s

Glad to hear it is something treatable with meds and nothing really serious! Sounds like you are warding off something that could have been major!

Hey Vicki - I have a friend on the DS board who takes flagyl and she says the same thing about the nasty taste.  She recommends a spoonfull of peanut butter all over the inside of your mouth before you take the pill, then swallow the peanut butter after the pill.  ????? might be worth a try ?????

Glad you are on the road to recovery.  At least now you know what it is and that it is treatable.  The worst part is not knowing.  The peanut butter trick sound worth a try.

Hey when do you see Dr. Rod again.   I go Monday

I go on Sept. 15 at 10:10.  As soon as I get out, I have to rush to Frankfort to sign up for retirement. 

Maybe we could meet in November.  I'll have more time to sit and talk then as I should be retired.  I'll be in touch and see if you can meet that day.  I'm also hoping to make some of the support meetings then too.  When I get off work, I don't have time to get to L-ville before the meetings.
