Annie , how did your appt go with dr tanner friday? did you get surgery date?
Yay!!!!!! So glad to you hear from you Cathy! My appointment went well and my surgery date is Aug. 6 at 9:00. I will need to drive back to Louisville next week for pre test , but accoding to Dr Tanner it is a go. I see where Lee Ann has gotten a group of Ky folk together this Sunday. Maybe you could join them. I have tried everyway to figure out a way to be there, but I'm keeping my sweet borrowed granddaughter tonight so her ooverworked parents can get some rest. How do you feel? How is the gas? Gosh you'll be wearing a 6 by Christmas!!!

Annie did Dr Tanner place you on a pre-op diet? I have appt for follow-up on august 8th....i am still at my daughter's in bardstown....will be going home in few days.... i need to at least go in to work by the 31st of july to do my timesheet------i am trying to stick to my liquids, but it is oh so not easy....but i am doing it.... i am taking my gasx, strips and chewables...after surgery , dr. tanner prescribed liquid pain meds.. for last 2 days, i took it at bedtime only... just have little soreness around the incisions , but doing great.....
the next week will fly by and it will be time before you know it.....

Dr Tanner didn't put me on anything special pre op. I was really surprised. Of course I would like to lose a little for surgery. I thought I may start this week with slimfast low carb and one small meal a day. I hate that you aren't feeling fuller, I really hope I won't be able to even think about food during my post-op liquid phase. Stay at your daughters as long as you can, it's nice to be waited on. My pre op test is Thursday and then on to the surgery table.

Annie , i think going on the liquids with high protein drinks and cutting down to one small meal of the day..helped me a lot prior to surgery and the day after... from 12:00 am npo before surgery, it was little over 36 hrs before i had any liquids, besides the swallow test mixture.. one thing that really helped a lot was some lip balm i picked up at the dollar store... made by aquafina.... overall i am doing great.. getting my fluids and protein...i will go back to home and hearth wednesday... my mother is not able to live by herself and so resides with me and my husband...both of them are diabetics so i think with my diet change, they will both benefit... take care annie ...... for pre-op, plan on taking something to drink, protein, etc.,, i was there a little while.. took a sudoku book.. and daughter took her laptop to do school work....,keep us updated.... 
My youngun did not get home from wor****il about 5:00am...i kinda stayed up until she got home..just now getting up,getting my self together. i probably won't be able to make the get together... but i so appreciate the invite... i would like to be able to get back here to meet with you all-----to say thanks for all the support.... i will continue to be on board , I AM trying to get all my liquids in; i need the accountability and i have learned a lot from you all---
