after you were released from the hospital

when were you able to drive youself ?

First remember...everyone is different.....I was on no pain meds and drove about 2 miles to the grocery 3 days after I was home....It was not comfortable.....a week was better...again...DO NOT DRIVE ON PAIN MEDS!!!!

  I think I was told not to drive for one week.  Had surgery on a Tuesday, went back to work following Monday and DH drove me on that 1st day back.  I'm pretty sure I drove after that.  Only 3 months ago- seems longer ago than that.  :)

     Ive read a few post  of RNYers, they didn't drive for about 2 weeks I think.....Good question for the docs! Maybe you'll get posts from some who have had the surgery.....

2 days after release..I have kids to take care of and places to go with people to see...no time to be down!

I drove 2 weeks to the day..and it felt very good to be out and about....the doc's just don't want you to be in a wreck or anything that can cause you any trouble ya know....You'll be on your feet in no time.

As Jeanne said, everyone is different. I had RNY and drove 3-4 days after going home. It was hard to get into a car but much easier to get up in my finaces truck.

I think I drove about week and half out maybe just a week...

I had to get out of the house LOL

I was told when I no longer needed pain meds for 48 hours.

I had LapBand, and my doctor told me no driving for 24 hrs (because of the anesthesia).
