ANTHEM BLU CROSS, BLUE SHIELD PPO

Anyone else had this insurance. If so were you approved for surgery and what all did you have to do before the surgery date.

My surgery was in 2005 and I had Anthem ppo.  I was approved in a week.  I did not have to do a 6mth diet but I had a years worth of records from Weigh****chers and documentation from my PCP Every 3 months due to co morbidities. my BMI was 46.  They were great.

I have been doing weigh****chers since Feb. 19 and i have my lil booklet. I have seen my pcp each month for awhile. and i have high blood pressure and diabetes run in the family.

Ok after you were approved when did you have surgery ?

Hi I got aproved on 8/30 and my surgery was 10/17.  I really didn't wait too long.

I have Anthem Federal BC/BS and it took 21 days for appproval.  I had documentation from a weight loss program and  a letter from my primary physician.  I have no other health issues.  I did not have my surgery until three months later.  Z

I had Anthem EPO and had to fight like hell.  Had all my specialist write letters and Dr. TOm did a formal appeal.  My kidney Doc who is Chinese said "how ou be too fat for weight loss surgery"  you do the accent.  My BMI was .5 to heigh that is like a pound.  But I did win in the end with the help of all my docs fighting for me it was a great feeling then surgery within the month.  Amy

I have Anthem bc/bs I was approved within a week of the staff submitting it even though I have a clause not covering it.  I am having my surgery Tuesday at Norton;s in Louisville
