6mo diet
Hello everyone! I just had a quick question that I was confused about. On Ky medicaid, what are the calculations for the 6mo supervised diet? Meaning are they calculated from like March 2 April is 1 month....then April 2 May is 2 mo? Or in my situation, I started in March, and my pcp is telling me that my 6mo will be up in Aug, but my WLS surgeon is saying that it goes that March 2 April is 1mo...then so forth. I am confused by this bc the lady that handles the insurance process says that it starts the month I started, so it would be from March-Aug. I would like to know how some of yours went and how it was calculated. I did post a similar question like this in another forum on here. Thanks, and I look 4ward to ur replies. Be blessed:)
My husband also had to do the 6mo diet according to his retirement insurance. Once he had his 6th visit and weigh in that's all that was needed....he was approved without question once the information was sent in. Besure to keep your own notes..mistakes can happen within the office. He even ask for copies of the docs notes for each visit..my husband was a police officer/investigator..his note taking is maticulous..
good luck!

If you started your 6-month diet the first of March, then you'll finish the end of August (or, technically, the first of September). I had to do a 6-month doctor-supervised diet for my insurance approval, and I had my doctor fill out a form at each appointment. (I scheduled my appointments 4 weeks apart and was finished when I had my 7th appointment--the starting appointment and 6 subsequent appointments). Then I gave those forms to my surgeon's office to verify that I was being supervised. Like Brenda said, you should keep copies of everyhting in case any paperwork is misplaced.
Good luck with your approval process!
