Looking for information

I am looking for any information about Dr. Tanner. I was assigned to him today and tried to look up information about him but I wasnt very successful. So I am reaching out to anyone that can help me out. I just am wondering what he requires and how he is?? So any help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks all..

I don't know anything about Dr. Tanner, but you can go up to the top of the upper left side page and click (find a: bariatric surgeon) then a page with the states on it will pop up and ask what state. Click on KY and then you go through a couple of pages of Doctors in KY, Dr. Tanner is on the last page.(3) Hope this makes it a little easier for you, there are a few reviews from some of his patients. Other than this you could google his name and maybe you will find a profile. Hope everything goes well on your search.....

Dr Tanner is my surgeon and although I haven't had my surgery yet, I really liked him at my first meeting. He had a fellowship with Dr Allen (one of the best) and evidently did so well he was asked to join his practice. Here is my time table so far:
mar.20 seminar
Apr 28 met with nutritionist and pychologist
may23 met Dr Tanner
started approval process with cardiologist(nuclear stress test)
visited pulmunologist, but he approved with out any additional test since he was aready treating
me for sleep apnea
Denied approval by insurance, sent additional medical records and was approved a week later.
July 25 will be my second visit with surgery following 2 or 3 weeks later.
I don't think he requires a strict pre op diet like a lot of docs, just tells you to watch carbs and fat.
I hope this helps you a little bit. A lot of your pre-op stuff will be determined by your insurance.

Are you planning having the bypass or the band?

Unless things have changed in the last 12 months or so, only Dr. Allen and Dr. Tanner in the U.S.A. group of surgeons are doing the laproscopic gastric bypass.

My sister had this and Dr. Tanner is her surgeon.  She's VERY happy with him and enjoys his demeanor very much.  She says he's honest and tells you what you need to hear but won't beat ya up for what you haven't done (she refuses to drink the protein and drags out getting her B-12 shots every once in a while).

I am planning on having bypass surgery. Thanks for all of your help. I was just kind of nervous cuz I had never met him before. My seminar was with Dr. Geller so atleast I would of been able to see a familiar face when I went to his office. Right now I am just waiting to hear from his office to set up an appointment. Hopefully that will not take very long. I know the nurse yesterday said that he likes to have a sleep apnea test done but I do not suffer from that so not sure why I need to have it tested. I guess time will tell.

angie, i have sleep apnea.. i had surgery approx 4 yrs ago... surgical and recovery room staff were not really aware of this... because of this i had some complications.. dr tanner may be requesting the test to rule out  the possibility  of amy complications that could be attributed to the apnea in your recovery.. --i selected dr tanner as my surgeon for the lapband.
my surgery schedule for next week.. ---he and his staff very pleasant and very helpful in answering my questions and working with me to get my surgery approved.
