in pain
I had the lap band in April, and have done really well since except for the past couple weeks. I get this really bad sharp pain in my right side every now and then. Yesterday and today I have had this pain non stop especially when i get up from sitting and start walking it hurts to where I have to stop in my tracks. I will even get the pain into my back but mainly just on my right side. What could it be? Should I go to the ER to get it checked out, I mean because the pain just comes and goes?!? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hope you've at least called your surgeon. Could very well be your gallbladder. Rapid weight loss can cause gallstones. Did your surgeon put you on Actigall or other meds to prevent that after surgery. I start taking mine on Friday a week out from RNY.
Good Luck. Hope you found out something and are pain free.
Skip the ER and just call Dr. Tom. I went to the ER with mine and they sent me to the gyno who said see the gastro who said (after many tests and money) I have no idea what it is. I was at Dr. TOm's and said something to Taryn about the pain I was in and she went back to Dr. Tom who ordered a sonogram of my gallbladder and told me 3 days later it needed to go. Dr. Tom is the Best.
