An intro of sorts... coming out of lurkdom..

Since I live relatively close to Louisville I figured I would come out of lurkdom and say Hi. I'm Misty, 26, married and all that fun stuff.. I am 11 months out and have lost about 107 lbs since surgery and down bout 127ish total, I have about 45 lbs to get to my goal and 30 to get to my surgeons. I have struggled a lot emotionally and what not because I have horrible body image issues that I am working on finding a therapist who specializes in them and eating disorders. I'm not very happy with my weight loss thus far and feel as though it's been super slow but I've had a lot of issues and complications which caused slow weight loss (PICC line with TPN for 2 months and a feeding tube for 7). I know Leanne & a few others that post over here and figured I would say Hi!!! :) I am in Louisville regularly as thats where my sister & BIL and nieces and also my little brother live. :) I'd love to meet up with some of y'all some time. :)

  Just though I would say HI to ya! Glad to see you on here!  It is a pretty great group of people on here and I have made alot of friends...or at least I would like to call them my friends!  I am like you...live in one but so close to the other!       

 I like to refer to it as INDI-UCKY!!!!

Welcome to the KY Board.   I live in Jeffersonville,  I have been active on OH but just attended my first support group.   I am slowly but surely coming out of my shell.  I have a therapist that works with me on eating issues and I have taken a self help body image course, however my therapist goes over my body image issues also.  She is in New Albany if you want her information I would be glad to PM it to you Vicki

Hi MistyLynn and welcome!! I too have one foot planted on each side of the river!  I lived in IN from about 10 years old till about 22 years old.  I was born in Louisville though and am now back on this side of the bridge.  I am a graduate of Jeffersonville H. S. and started my college at IUS.  I've lived in Jeff, Clarksville, Old Clarksville and Sellersburg.  LOL....my parents were nomadic!  Everytime mom got the wallpapaer completed in the house we knew it was time to start packing! I personally think you are doing GREAT on the weightloss!!  Sometimes we are our own hardest critic though.  I think seeing a therapist is a great idea to conquer the demons we all have and put them to rest! 

Please do consider meeting up with us sometime soon.  We have so much fun together I think we're going to start meeting outside of the support groups more frequently.....LOL, I guess you can say we're rebels since we want to run our own show!!!

Speaking of which...since we all have plans and are unable to go to Amy's...perhaps we can come up with a date where we could meet locally! Becca had suggested Cheddars in Clarksville....Anyone got a date in mind?  The 12 and 19 are already booked for me, but Sundays are always good...any takers? This invite is for all the lurkers and newbies too! Lets get this party started people!

Sounds good to me Lee Ann... If someone suggests a date. Sundays are okay for me (if it's after 1 pm and before 5) BUT are usually crowded at restaurants because of church. Preferrably a day my husband is working lol because he doesn't get into these things but will follow me and gripe the whole way home if he is off.

Welcome MistyLynn, We are great people (atleast we think we are)!! You are doing great on your weight loss. We see it but it is important that you recognize it too. Hang in there one day your innerself will catch up. Hope to see you at the meetings. P.s. My 2nd job hours are crazy so I would need a few weeks notice to be able to come to outing but I wanna come and play too so let me know.
