how much did you loose right after surgery?

Just wanted to see how much everyone lost right after surgery. I am reading these post about people not having restriction because they have not had a fill yet. So if you can eat everything you did before how do you get ride of all that unwanted weight? Shouldn't you always have some restriction? I thought that is what helps you.
