I have a date with a surgeon!
August 5th I will start my new life and I am jumping for joy!
Dr. Geller is my surgeon and although I've only met him once I felt really good about my choice right away. Anyone one else care to comment on their experience with him or Norton Suburban? Also I don't know anyone personally that has been through this (RNY) so I'm going to need some friends when I come out on the other side. I have been to Dr. Geller's OH forum but doesn't seem to be much activity over there...I hope that's not a bad sign? Since this board thing is pretty new to me I not really sure where the best forum place to hang out is.... all advice and opinions are appreciated!

Hi and Congrats on your date. I don't know your surgeon or much about the RNY but am thrilled for you beginning your journey. After everything it takes to get ready for surgery it's nice to know you've made the right decision and actually go for it! Best wishes and welcome to the KY board
I owed it to myself to research the duodenal switch before consenting to any other weight loss surgery and so do you. Check out DSFacts.com and DuodenalSwitch.com for more information. Remember think twice, cut once, revisions are risky and revision surgeons are rare.

Hello from Crestwood!
I don't have much RNY knowledge (I'm a bandster) but I did want to welcome you to the board. I'm a Norton's gal too but obviously a different doc and I used the Downtown hospital. Maybe we can meet up at a support group one day.
Then again, there's this crazy gathering (check the other posts) going on today if you feel up to it. There should be one or two pre-ops coming so don't feel like you aren't invited simply because you have join the WLS bench yet. The more the merrier!
HI! congrats on getting to see a doctor!! I have heard alot of good stuff about Dr.gellar. I have dealt with him on a couple of occasions due to him being Dr.Shina's back up and he is wonderfully supportive!!!!
Just wanted to welcome you to the ky board. Cant help u too much on rny but can support u

Thanks to all for the replies, good wishes and information. I can already tell that becoming a part of this WLS community is going to be a really great thing for me! I can't wait to hop on over to that losers bench! Yippee! Who would have ever thought that becoming a loser was going to be a good thing! LOL

Hi,
I'm a "bench warmer" too and haven't even got a date scheduled so I'll be looking to you to see how you do. I want Dr. Geller to do my surgery too and I want a the RNY too. You've got a lot of support here and they are fun.
Be sure and let us know how you are doing and keep posting.
