Yee Haw!!  I'm getting ready to go have a "ME" day!!  Mr. Entertainment is taking the princess to a birthday party at 2pm and i'm going to be set free for a few hours!  We split Gracie's agenda today and I took the 9am swim team practice and he's taking the party!  I think he's hoping to snag a piece of cake!! FOOD breakfast:  Skinny cini dulce latte (10oz milk and 6oz coffee) lunch:  veggie burger with 2% cheese slice and spicy mustard.  I had 3 bites and decided I didn't like it so I ate a half a toasted mini bagel with peanut butter on it. snack:  1/4 cup roasted almonds dinner:  Shrimp kabobs (8 small shrimp total), small baked potato w/ lite SC (no marg) and 3/4 broccoli salad (a VERY healthy kit from Costco) to go with it. snack:  Damn that Schwan's man and his L/F lemon frozen yogurt!  (I had one scoop) FLUIDS 10oz 1% milk 17oz crystal light 32oz iced tea w/ splenda EXERCISE It an R and R kinda day!

I owed it to myself to research the duodenal switch before consenting to any other weight loss surgery and so do you.  Check out DSFacts.com and DuodenalSwitch.com for more information.  Remember think twice, cut once, revisions are risky and revision surgeons are rare.

How can u eat bread? I cant eat bread at all or potatoes.  I cant eat hot dogs either.  I mightbe too tight again.  Ive lost 20 p though.  I just have to be choosy about what I can get down.

I can eat the bread as long as it is slathered in butter or mayo.  Potatos are the same way - as long as they are loaded with butter, sour cream and cheese.  I don't have alot of room but find my protein goes down alot easier if I have some kind of carb with it.  I can eat hot dogs but I cut them up and roll them around in mustard first. Also there is a difference in our surgeries - your avatar doesn't say what surgery you had but the DS allows me a greater volume of food than most.  Maybe that's where the real answer lies to your question.   20 lbs is a great loss!  Congrats!

What is the difference between DS and lapband?

I am not good at explaining all the specifics, but with the DS we have a malabsorption feature that Lap Band patients do not have.  So, when I eat high fat, 82% of those calories are malabsorbed.  So you and I eating 20 grams of fat, would not be equal.  You would get all 20, while I would only get 4 grams of fat.  Hope this helps a little. :) Tiffany
