Subject: Oh ****
Well it has happened. I've been struck speechless by a 6 yr old. My daughter
and the neighbors lil girl, Emmy are good friends. They spend alot of time here
or over at Emmy's. Emmy's a sweet kid and I've no problems with this. Emmy's
lil cousin David, is Allison's age. He's there alot too. They all play together
pretty good. Today they've been in Emmy's kiddie pool and Allisons. The kids
just went home a few mins ago and I brought Allison in to give her a bath. She
came in and said Mom, lil David showed me his u know, down there. Well, I think
my mouth hit the floor. I was stunned there for a few seconds. Then I said,
sissy, that is not nice. Kids are not supposed to show each other their
"private" parts. She said I know mom, I learned that in school. So I said, well
if u know then why didn't u tell his mommy? She said, well he showed it to me.
I didn't ask him too! Ok, what in the world do u say in this situation? I know
it's a normal part of kids and that its going to happen. I'm not freaked out
about it. I told Adam and he busted out laughing. Yes, ha ha ha, she didn't
blurt it out to him like she did me. She didn't want daddy knowing. Oh well, I
thought I'd share with u guys and see what u're intake on this situation is.
Kids will be kids but I made sure I told her that privates are private and u do
not show them, let ppl touch them, etc.
Hugs

It sounds like you handled it just right.  I know it's a shocking thing to hear when they say it, but it really is just part of kids being kids.  I honestly remember being about 3 years old and sneaking around and hiding under the bed with my mom's best friend's little boy (who was my age), showing each other the difference in our private parts. All you can do is make sure she knows about what's appropriate and what's not, and maybe add a little extra supervision.  I wouldn't worry about it too much, since she just says he showed her what his looked like, not that he was trying to act anything out.  If she had said that he was trying to get her to do something with him, then I'd think maybe he had been exposed to something he didn't need to be exposed to, and I would investigate it further.  But as it stands, I wouldn't worry. Good job, Mom.  It's not a fun moment, but it sounds like you handled it well.

I think you need to tell his mother he did that.  If he does something like that at school or on the bus this kid is going to be branded a pervert.  Maybe it was normal when we were kids but it certainly isn't anymore.  While I agree you handled it well enough, the boy will be in huge trouble if he decides to flash that thing anywhere else.  If I were his mother I would want to know so I could save him the embarrassment of a talk in the principle's office and years of therapy.

I owed it to myself to research the duodenal switch before consenting to any other weight loss surgery and so do you.  Check out DSFacts.com and DuodenalSwitch.com for more information.  Remember think twice, cut once, revisions are risky and revision surgeons are rare.

You're right, that's something I didn't address in my post.  If you have contact with the mother, then I do think you should mention it.  I wouldn't make a really big deal about it if it was just a one time thing, but I do think that it should be mentioned to his mother to give her a chance to talk to her son about how inappropriate this behavior is. If you don't have contact with his mother, I would mention it to Emmy's mother.  She can either tell his mother or have the talk with him herself.  I'm sure she wouldn't want him to continue like this in front of her daughter or yours, either.
