Hi I am doing some research on WLS for my husband.  I am also wondering about a few Dr's in the Ashland Ky  or the Huntington Wv area. He is going to a seminar on 6-5-08 at KDMC. I would like to know the good and the bad on these Dr's. We have heard the good stories and the bad ones  (on wls) so he is not sure if he even wants to have it done. Thank you

hi there, my name is Lisa and I had wls, on Feb.12th and Dr.Wheeler was my dr. and if I had to do the surgery again, I would get him to do it. my friend also had one of the other dr.'s that works with him ,and she is doing awesome.    you have to decide what is right for you, well your husband, but it was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life, I am down under 200 pounds now, lost 70 total.     if you have any questions just e-mail me, my regular e-mail is [email protected] by the way, all my weight loss stuff was from KDMC and you couldn't ask for a better hospital or staff.

Hi I had my surgery on May 7 and Dr. Tompkins with KDMC done mine. I have nothing but praise for Dr. Tompkins, he is an awesome dr and has great bedside manner. I would choose him to do my surgery again. My stay at KDMC was wonderful. The nurses were always prompt and so nice. It is a great hospital.

Thank You for the reply. With all the research that I have done on these Dr's the hardest part is going to be which Dr performs his surgery because they all sound like they are great Dr's. How did you chose which Dr performed your operation?
