diverticulitis

Does having diverticulitis prevent you from having lap band surgery?

I would assume that would be a question better posed to your surgeon.  A friend of mine has Irratible Bowel Syndrome & 3 surgeons turned her down.

Lap Band on 03/21/07
I have Crohns and could not get by pass but did get Lap BAnd.

I have IBS and diverticulitis and my doc was ok with doing the bypass--but I have had no flair ups in yseveral years (meaning I have not needed antibiotics for that eriod of time) I think it will depend greatly on your specific health ...
