Looking to have GBP done.

HI!!! My name is Melissa, I am a 26 year old female that has a beautiful family that includes my two children 4.5 and 2 a son and daughter. My husband is active duty here at Fort Knox. I'm looking for some info on having the procedure done. Currently I am here on Fort Knox and wondering if this Maj Ward is still here. Has anyone came across him? I am going tomorrow to see my primary care dr on Fort Knox to get  a referral for the procedure. I am done battling this weight for the rest of my life. I want to be healthy and be able to run with my children and make love to my husband without having my back hurt or anything.  Does anyone out there know if they have a surgeon on Fort Knox anymore or are they going to refer me out? Hi Melissa, My sis is a (retired) military wife out of Fort Knox  too.  She had gastric bypass in May of 07.  She had her WLS done by Dr. Tanner and Allen here in Louisville, so I believe she was refered out.  At that time, if she had opted for the lap band she would have had to go to Wright Patterson for the procedure.  The distance to travel for fills and follow-up helped her decide to got for the RNY bypass.   She did mention to me the other day that they just received notice the other day that they are now approving lap band!!  Oh well, she's more than happy with her bypass!! Not sure how much my rambling helps you but I do want to say Welcome to the KY OH board!!
