Anyone get started only to find you need to start over???
Well, I thought I was doing well. Did my labs. Finally got my consultation done. was calling for my appointment for my referrals to cardiac and pulo, only to find out I will have to do the 6 month after all...well, most likely. It is not for certain til they go over my charts, but I cannot imagine that they will skip it. I had just called to double check if I knew of everything we needed to keep moving towards surgery.
I am just frustrated as the insurance gal at the doc's office has KNOWN since February that I was picking up Tri-Care, and never mentioned til I asked today that yes we needed a 6 month medical supervised diet. I must have spoken to her closer to a dozen than half dozen times- and yet she never remembered to tell me and probably would not have except that I asked today. I realize she deals with many people and many inusrances...but she has known since FEBRUARY that I was picking up my tri-care option specifically for this. Soooo, I could have been 1/2 way done, but now I have to start back at the beginning. I bet I will have to have blood work done again when I am done with the 6 months.
There is one or two small shining moments in this... I have a blood work follow up with my pcp and I can start the diet then, oh, and I won't be too worried about my trip to CA this summer.
I was / am just frustrated and I will get over this and move along, so thanks for listening.
Hmmm....did you see your PCP last month (and maybe even the month before) while getting ready for all of this?? Was the word DIET mentioned at all?? If so, maybe you can get them to consider those dates as the beginning of your 6 month?? Might not help for the whole lost 3 months but maybe it could chip it away a little!
Tri-Care is military insurance right? I will check with my sis who had RNY last year but I don't thik they made her do the 6 month diet. Maybe there's an angle or something.
Thank you I would appreciate it greatly if you did speak to your sis. I have heard that the different tri-care options make a difference too. So, if it is not too rude to ask would you please ask her what kind of tri-care she has? Prime or standard. I had /have Aetna and they denied me due to exclusion..so I went to tri-care. I bet I can get him to use last months appt for that as that is why we were there. We go next week which may count as May so let us see. My brother said the same thing.
Thanks for the input and support
much appreciated.
