Well I had my first appt. scheduled with Dr. Allen on May 9th.. I've been waiting for this forever it seems!! and looking SOO FORWARD to it!! Then I get a call at 7:30am that something has come up and he has to reschedule... No problem I thought.. WELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.. they can't get me in until JUNE 13th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What the heck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know it's not that big of a deal since I technically don't finish my 6 month weight management until June, but you know you look so forward to getting into the office..and 2 days before they call and reschedule.. Oh well!.. One less trip to Louisville this week since I'm allready up there twice this week for a school field trip to the zoo and an appt for my son!...  Sandi

I think I'd be frustrated too!!  It's kinda like two steps forward and one step back! I'm willing to be though that this might be par for the course with Dr. Allen.  He's the doctor at the downtown location with the highest patient demand.  I've been told it takes a couple (or more) weeks longer to get scheduled for the surgery itself with him because he carries such a high patient load!  Once you do get going with him I'd try not to have to reschedule anything on your end beause I'm sure office visits are just as hard to get! My doc doesn't have as much demand (although pretty darn good and has logged 1400+ bands) but he generally only does office appointments on Wednesday and surgeries on Thursdays so that's a down side too.

Sandi, hang in there!!  Dr. Allen was my surgeon and I know his office staff is sometimes a little difficult to communicate with (or least that was my experience).  As far as the appointment delay goes, take a breath, or two and be determined not to let this setback get you down.  I hope your date for the surgery gets here before you know it.  Dr. Allen has certain days set aside for certain things and there's not much else you can do.  Your day WILL get here!

Sandi, I'm so sorry about your appointment! I'm waiting too, although I chose another doctor in his  group. I really pray my motivation stays as high as it it right now. I think , I might be looking at a July surgery date. I think the best thing to do is to keep learning and participating on OH. Good luck and just focus on the new clothes you'll probably need by the holidays. tricia ann

That sounds about par for the course with Dr. Allen.  I chose Dr. Kehdy who is in his office as well and was scheduled for my appt. within days, HOWEVER, due to the fact that Dr.Allen has to tag team with Dr. Kehdy during my surgery (due to insurance requirements) my surgery sate is 6-2.  I know that is only 3 1/2 weeks away now, but they scheduled this on 4-21so it was a 6 week difference from my insurance approval to my surgery date.  If Dr. Kehdy was able to do this solo, I would have already had my surgery.

Well....I saw Dr Allen today for my third fill and to discuss another surgery to fix my flipped band! he said something to one of the xray techs about having to be out of town tomorrow unexpectedly. Not sure if it was a family emergency or what. He really is busy and normally with him it takes 6 months from seminar to surgery.  He had two other Dr with him today to observe my fill with xray. Nothing like an audience! Anyway, he is worth the wait. I have not met any of the other Dr, but I do know everytime I have to go to the office...it is packed and the office staff are running helter skelter! I would hate to work there! Just keep your chin up and know it will happen soon!
