KDMC hospital stay ?s

Ok so maybe its my nerves but I have all these questions running through my head. I am scheduled to have RNY this coming Wednesday at KDMC ~ YaY!!! I'm so excited!!! Anyway I live 2 hours away in Pike county and my hubby is going with me. I was wondering if anyone who has had their surgery there could tell me if you have a private room during your hospital stay and do they allow your spouse to stay with you? Thanks, Gina

I had a private room, they even have some kind of an upgrade that you can pay for extra like 75.00 a night, and it has a sofa, curtains, just like your home, lol. I couldn't afford it, but if you can it may be something you wanna check into, someone stayed with me 24 hours a day, and never a word said. I loved  the hospital, and there was one night nurse that I absoulety loved, she wasn't to young, and she was like the best nurse i have ever had, i even had to stay an xtra day and she found out and made them switch so she could have me as a patient the last night also. just an awesome lady and nurse!!!

My room was private also. I think all the bariatric ones are. My wife stayed the whole time. Matter of fact there were things that she helped me with that would have been a bit akward for me to have a nurse to do. My stay was great and the staff was all very helpful. I went back on my year anniversary to the nurse's station and looked up one of the nurses that asked that I come back after looseing weight. She said she tells that to every one but not very many do. She remebered me because of how much I walked the halls. Best thing I ever did. pan head
