Plastic Surgery

I thought I would share my experience yesterday with a plastic surgeon. I thought when I had my bypass done. I would have thought when I had this done I would  be treated better but not the case. But yesterday was horrible. This guy told me I needed  to loose more weight I have lost 230 pounds. I wanted to have someone look at my belley and have it removed to I can get around better and excercis I know I will have to have a revision later my surgeon and family doctor suggested this. The worst thing he said to me was he referred to us as you people. I just got up and left. You know I am pretty tough but he really hurt my feelings.

that's really terrible.  i'm sorry you had to deal with that.  would you mind emailing me this guy's name?  that way i know not to go see him when i'm ready to have a consultation!  or, you can post his name here that way no one else has to deal with this jerk either!  lol

Mark, just as in any other medical profession there are "those people" or docs who just don't get it... But please do not base your opinion of all plastic surgeons on one insensitive moron...there are surgeons who care very much and who are proud of what we have accomplished.  Keep looking..find the right fit.  You will know when you find it, it will just feel right..  Travel if you have to..many folks who have had plastic surgery travel far for the best..Ask questions and seek advice from those who have had it done. Well I know your right. I have found someone else this morning. Kurtis Martin in Cincinnati. I sent him pictures we took last night. I E-Mailed them to him morning. He will respond when he has time I'm sure. According to his web site he is a specialist in Bariatric patients. I Don'nt know if I want it to soon or not. But I do know how much it would help me to continue to keep losing because of excercising. In the past 2 weeks I have bad skin rashes. I want ot be a lot more active but is hard. I guess the only that bothers me is doing it twice. Has anyone else out there in this situation. I have read on his web site He performed this prcedure on large person before then went back back for revosion. This Surgeon really scared me yesterday.

First, let me say that I'm mostly a lurker.  I read the boards daily, sometimes agreeing/disagreeing with comments made.  I use what I can and let the rest go but I wanted to let people know that Dr. Rogers did some PS work on me 12/07 and I have nothing but great stuff to say about him and his staff.  I received excellent care both before and after my surgeries. Mark, I'm sorry for your experience but I am one of (you people) and was treated with the utmost respect from Dr. Rogers and his staff.  If I had the funding, Dr. Rogers would most definitely be doing more PS on me. Don't mean to offend, just wanted to let everyone know about my experience with Dr. Rogers.

Im so sorry and upset that this docter (if you can call him that!)  treated you this way. How dare he! Thank you for sharing with us so that we now know to avoid this docter!!! Chea

Just because one person had a bad experience does not make Dr. Rogers a moron or a bad doctor.   Dr. Rogers and his staff have always been wonderful to me and others that I have known that have been patients (weight loss and non weight loss).  I like him and his work so well that I have referred a good friend to him for some work(not a weight-loss patient) and my husband(a weight-loss patient) would love for him to do his plastic surgery but hasn't the time off from work to have this done. Opinions of someone is just that.  My own personal opinion is that Dr. Rogers is a very qualified surgeon and your experience with him was not exactly what you would have liked it to be, but don't bash a good doctor and give him a bad name to people on this board because things didn't quite turn out the way you would have liked.  I'm very disappointed in Brenda G because she appears to try and help people along this journey, yet calls this Dr. a moron just because one person says they don't like him. I'm not trying to cause trouble, I just feel I need to defend Dr. Rogers because if someone is researching for plastic surgeons and Mark's post is all they think of him, then I want to set the record straight and say that I've have only good comments to say about Dr. Rogers and if you want good quality care and good results then Dr. Rogers would be highly recommended .
