Well ,It looks like it is FINALLY my turn.I am doing ok stress wise ,getting a little anxious .Not really scared though. My husband is more nervous than me .I start my liquid diet sunday and take 2 tbsp of milk of magnesia.Has it been hard eating less food than what we did before surgery? Will I feel like I am starving ? How bad is the nausea,ECT? I will let you all know how I am doing when I am released

Thank u so much for your well wishes.I am pretty calm actually,It's other ppl close to me that aren't.I wish I knew how to help them.I am hoping when surgery is over that they will be fine.I had heard of using a medicine cup and it sounds like a good idea, that way I won't over fill my pouch.I need to get some more protein supplies .But I guess I can friday.I have enough to get me started.I stocked up on broth and jello amd sf products. So now I just wait....I feel optimistic about the surgery. Thanks, Tina

You will do great! I am so glad I did my band! My weight loss has been slow...but I also have not put 100 % into the exercise part and have upped it these past two weeks and see the difference! I can almost walk a mile now and enjoy it. Its not a fast pace...but I do not have to use my cane either! My PT is working wonders and I am feeling better! Good luck and we will be here cheering for you!
Hi Tina
I had my surgery April 11 at St. Joseph. Dr. Steiner was my doctor also. It went very well, no problems at all. There was very little pain and the nurses were there with the meds in case you needed them. I haven't had any nausea, no dumping, actually no complaints. You may feel hungry now, but I have not been hungry since I left the hospital. I went into surgery at 244 and am now at 231. I have been at 231 for 3 days and I got very discouraged until I measured myself this morning and had lost 7 more inches in the last 3 days. :) If you have any question, feel free to e-mail me at [email protected]. I check that e-mail address more than the forum here. Good luck and congratulations.

Good Luck Tina!
My advice is to get their Hot Chocolate that they sale... After surgery they will tell you to drink to hot drinks twice a day... I don't like tea so their hot chocolate is the best!
3 scoops in the morning and 3 at night is 60 grams of protien..
Also remember to breath good in that breathing machine they give you and get up and walk
as much as you can while you are in the hospital.. The nurses are great there and took very good care of me while I was there..
I felt sick to my stomach a lot off and on but it is not as bad now..
I also had hot and cold flashes for the first week lol
I have lost 21 lbs so far... 5 lbs was the week before surgery and 14 lbs since surgery date.
