New to KY and looking for PCP
Hi Claudia!
Welcome to Kentucky!
I live about 20 minutes from the Middletown area and just started with a new PCP. His name is Richard Hefner. He's not overly knowledgable in WLS but is open-minded and willing to listen and learn. He does have a few other WLS patient's that I know of . I know there are two DS patients (one being our very own Vicki in a Clamshell), myself and my husband (both lap banders) and I believe there is a person who has had RNY as well. Not a bad head count for a small town doc!!
Let me know if you would like more info and I'll see what I can get for you!!
OH YEAH, are you looking for a bariatric doctor to follow your RNY as well? If so there are two really good ones at the Subarban Hospital (Dr. Gellar and Dr. Shina). They are part of the Norton's Healthcare group that my doctor is a part of as well. The Norton's group as a whole has very good follow up care for thier patients. There are 2 support groups each month that are awesome! Would love to have you join us!
The PCP's info is as follow: Richard A. Hefner, DO 6106 Crestwood Station Crestwood, KY 40014
(502) 243-3161 The Norton suppoty Group meetings are: 2nd Tuesday of each month at the Norton's Healthcare Pavilion (downtown Louisville) 4th Thursday of each month at the Norton's Suburban Hosptial (St. Matthew's area) Both groups are really informative and fun! I enjoy them beacause I get to socialize a bit with people I've met online or through the doctor's office.
