4/10/08 - Daily diet & exercise journal

I had a mommy's day out today!!!  Ye haw!!  I went and did a little retail therapy and then came home and hung out with Richard once he got home from his pre-ops and final seminar!  He's finally feeling good about things which is great considering he's been like a psycho energizer bunny with the 2 week (pre-surgery) freak!  Yesterday he bought a pro drag racing car and told me I should start calling about the breast reduction that I want!!    We also have an insurance nurse coming out Saturday morning to give us physicals so we can get his life insurance increased prior to surgery before he becomes uninsurable (I'm sure i'll be denied due to the WLS but we're going to give it a shot).  The man is wearing me out!! Oh yeah, my father had his psych and NUT appointments today as well! FOOD B:  about 12 green grapes L:  McDonald's Southwest Salad, I ate the whole thing!!  (but it was only 420 calories) S:  small handful of goldfish crackers D:  Ribeye steak and grilled veggies FLUIDS ummm.......I don't really remember but it wasn't enough! EXERCISE It's my "off" day so unless I can count shopping it's a big ZERO for today.

Well Becka I got a late start this morning but tomorrow my day is open so I plan on a long exercise routine first thing.  I didn't drink my protein drink or get on the treadmill today.   Why would the WLS make you less insurable?  Is your father and Richard having surgery around the same time?   If you find a good PS for breast let me know.  That's the only thing that I don't need reduced. Here goes today's menu:  B - Tea and two bottles of Propel Water, L - Tuna and Vegetable Wheat thin Chips, Jello Instant Puddding Sugar Free, Snack - SpecialK Chocolate Delight Snack Bar, Dinner - 6 oz of Honey Smoked Turkey Breast Luncheon Meat. Planning for a better tomorrow.  Z

Hi Z, On the insurance question, I had read on the bigger lap band board that people were having trouble changing to new insurance providers for health insurance and new life policies as well.  In fact there were several post in the last few months about people being outright DENIED.  The health insurance looked like it was people who had individual policies though and not group policies from emplyoers.  Since my hubby's busniess is so small (it's just him and two employees) and i'm staying at home with the little girlie, we have one of those dreaded individual policies.

From reading those posts the gist was that they were denied being due to having had WLS and having not been 5 years post-op with it!   SOOO, it appears that I am stuck with my crappy current health insurance policy that doesn't cover ANYTHING band related and I may not be able to get anymore life insurance other than the little AFLAC policy I kept when I opted for early retirement from my last place of employment.  We are going to try the life insurance thing though and let them tell me no outright.  For Richard though we were going to get a new whole life policy on him anyway to better protect the future given that he's the bread winner.  The trick for him though is to get it in place before his surgery next week or atleast through the underwriters before then!! 

I was denied Life insurance from 3 companies.  I wish you luck.  If you find one, let me know the name.  I gave up. AMy K

BARGEEEEEE!!!!!! I talked to my insurance agent, and she said that there should be no reason why we would get turned down due to the band!!! She said it wouldn't be any worse than being overweight...  just a fyi dawn

IT WAS MY FARM BUREAU AGENT I have a life ins policy through them and my house and cars.. Maybe thats the difference? dawn
