I'm with you on that one!  Maybe we need to let the Bariatric Center know what we'd prefer since we paid for their services!  Maybe a 20 minutes presentation and 40 minutes talk time.  I wouldn't be opposed to making it a 90 minute meeting either.  Not sure how that would go over with others though.  ** This was supposed to post below Lee Ann's comment.  Computer has a mind of it's own tonight!

I so agree with this statement, this is why my attendance at these meetings has been sporadic at best.  The last one I went to was before Christmas and the woman doing the presentation wouldn't even let us talk.  I want to meet people, talk about their experiences and share helpful information.  We are in this thing together and if it is possible perhaps making the meeting longer.  I know I don't mind, I just know we all need support.  I paid my $300 and I want my support group to be a support group not a seminar.
I owed it to myself to research the duodenal switch before consenting to any other weight loss surgery and so do you.  Check out DSFacts.com and DuodenalSwitch.com for more information.  Remember think twice, cut once, revisions are risky and revision surgeons are rare.

DARN- I missed it! I really wanted to go, and could not...drats! I wish I could have. It sounds as if it was good. I am still very far out, but I know that I personally do quite a bit better with big changes with a support system. I think also this will be all the more important to me as my mom and aunties are in CA. I have good friends, but so far have only told one.  Luckily she is a good friend. I am glad for all of you that it was awesome. Considering I drive 45-50 minutes to get there 30 more minutes would be good for me too. have a great night

Postscript to yesterday's post: Nice to meet you Tuesday night Becka and thanks for your notes on the upcoming meetings.  Sleep apnea? My machine is gathering dust and I'm still paying, but pulmonologist said to hold on to it till after surgery (4/22) Exercise bands? Will have just gotten out of hospital day before... we'll see.  Good to have the support.  Have to spend time today on lesson plans for week of surgery.  Yikes!  One week from today until I have pre-op tests.  All of a sudden time is flying by!  I do appreciate all the info and support from this board!  Thanks!  Happy Trails!   Jeanie
