Support Meeting last night

I don't know about everyone else....but I really got alot more out of the meeting last night than I did the one prior. It was far more informative and felt like a meeting rather than the lecture it was the last time I went.  Hope this keeps up or at least extend it another 1/2 to 1 hour for open forum. It was nice to get to hear more about others situations and progress. And its always nice to see everyone in person as well.  My daughter just laughs at me because she cannot believe how shy I become in a roomful of people as opposed to at home.  It gets a little easier each time though! Thanks to all of you for the support you give on a daily basis!

   I liked it better that way too!!! I dont mind speakers if its stuff we havent heard like the plastic surgeon but man the sleep apnea thing at suburban was for the birds.. and Mary's was just plain BORING....   I also thing George is alot better at the group thing., he seems to know ALOT about it and is in tune to the crowd!!! im glad she comes with you!!! Its great to have support like that!!!! The baby is adorable!!! When's he coming to see his new auntie's??? hehhehe dawn

I thought the CPAP thing was pretty much a waste of time too and it was my first meeting so I wasn't in a real hurry to go to the one downtown.   I wish I would have come out. Jessica

Hi Jessica, Dawn and I were able to piece together the topics for the next two meetings: April 24th meeting at Suburban is going to be about exercise with resistance bands May 13th meeting at Norton's Downtown is going to be about sleep apnea.....LOL, we've already decided we weren't going!!   LOL....maybe we SHOULD do our own meeting that night!!  Margaritas for everyone!

Count me in at Suburban, I have been horrible about excersise so far I have done um NONE. LOL Imean really I am doing so much more activity that I did before but no structured excersise.  Margaretta's sound great um are we allowed to drink if so why didn't anyone tell me??? Jessica

LOL....no drinking!   I think I read somewhere you had to wait until you were 6 months out?  I'm sure each doc has their own version on that rule too!  Then there's the sugar aspect too.... I guess we could just buy one and pass it around!

13 days away from surgery & 7 days till pre-op tests!  Last night was my first time at support meeting and it really was great!  Reading posts and message boards are very helpful, but the meeting last night was very encouraging especially since I'm so new to this.  Next time, I'll get there on time. I look forward to going next month- 2 weeks after surgery.  We'll see.  I'm making a real effort to cut way back on food intake in preparation for surgery and taday has been a good day.  (Only 28 more days of school, but with days off for surgery and a couple of days with Chorus and Band trip middle of May, it's only 21 days of school left for me.)   Yahoo! This is the 1st time I have been on the Ky. board. how are you doing? I have yet to make a support meeting, the location sucks for me, but I know I need to get there. How are you progressing?

Hi Stacia! The KY board is a good group of people.  Stick around, there's a lot of Norton's patient's here.  Some days it moves very slow and then there's a day or two where we can't quit talking!!
