I'm at a stand still
Hi all, I am 4 1/2 months out of surgery, I go for my third fill tomorrow and I have come to a complete stop on losing. Is this normal or to be expected? I have been doing the same things and even exercising more so what is the deal?I hope someone can shed some light on this before I drive myself crazy. Thanks, Stacey

Hi Stacey....well I had my lap band done Oct 29 and know and sympathize with ya....I wasin a rut with mine and had stalled out for about a month! But...I finally dropped another 3 lbs in just a week and am on the losing slide again. I felt like I had done something wrong, but it just happens. I called Dr Allen's office today and tried to sched my third fill. I have to have mine done by xray because my port turned sideways and he said it would be easier to do it that way. They have to check with him on this and call me back. Like I would lie about it! Anyways...yes it is normal to stall out! Just try to have patience...you will be back on that losing slide! Your body is just playing catch up...or so I'm told.
Hi Stacey,
I think your situation is completely normal so don't fret! Once you get your fill tomorrow it might be a whole new ballgame!! I always do well the week following a fill and then kinda taper off to MAYBE a pound every week or week and a half after that. This last fill for me was #4 and i'm close but I don't really think I'm at my sweet spot yet! I'm just plugging along though and might try to wait this last fill out a while before I push for another one! I checked your profile and I am exactly 4 weeks ahead of your surgery date. I'm happy with my 44 pound weight loss but know I'm moving kinda slow. I'm also chalking up some of the slow weight loss to the fact that I am hitting the gym heavier than I ever have in my life and am building muscle which they say weighs more than fat! Oh well, I still live with the dream that I'll wake up one morning and have mysteriously lost the other 10 pounds I think I should have lost by now!
Keep in touch and we can encourage each other and/or whine to one another when we need to!!

Thanks for the encouragement and I didn't even think about the gym part because I have increased my workout regimen, and I feel better, and I know I shouldn't go by the scales but its a hard habit to break when you have lived with it for so long. Thanks again for the kind words it helps so much to have people to talk to when your just not sure about something.
