Did you hear me shouting for joy from Indiana?!  I did!  Aubrey was scheduled for her c-section on Tuesday the 25th. Apparently she had started having contractions around noon on Monday, but thought they were Braxton Hicks so tried to wait them out......not! I got home from work at 5:00 and we went to get a bite of dinner. I asked her if she was ok and she said yes...just the usual cramping. When we got home Dale decided to time them and after about an hour he told me to get my shower and he would put the bags in the car....it was time. We got to the hospital and after 24 more hours of labor...Braedyn arrived. Aubrey was unbelievable! 7 pushes and he was out...no screaming, crying, or swearing......just a huge sigh of relief and smile. He did tear her a bit, but she was oblivious. He had to stay in the nursery during her stay there because he had a blood bacteria (septic) and was on IV's, feeding tube, etc....But now everyone is home and he is just perfect. I am so proud of Aubrey.....she put grown women to shame in that delivery room and is a great mom. Sixteen is still too young...but after seeing him, she knows it will all be ok!  Thank you to all you OH ers for your support and well wishes! I showed them to her and she was very touched. She knows what this board means to me after going to the support meeting.  New pics are on my profile! And to all you grandmas.......you are right! There is nothing like this feeling! They need to bottle it...talk about a money maker!

Congratulations to the whole family!! I'm sure Braedyn is simply beautiful and well on his way to being utterly spoiled!!

My Gracie was born septic as well.  They wanted to keep her in the special care unit a full seven days for the full course of antibiotics but I put my foot down and they let me take her home with a visiting nurse coming out 2X a day for the IV therapy.  I did have to leave her in the special care nursery for one night when I was discharged and let me tell you, walking out of the hospital without my baby was the hardest thing I ever had to do!  I bawled my eyes out and turned around two hours later and just went and sat there with her until they convinced me to go home and sleep so I could come get her the next morning. Sixteen may be young and will definately have it's challanges but she will have the energy to play and keep up with him!  Besides, love knows no age.  My mother started at 16 as well.  She had #2 at 19 (me) and #3 at 25.....lol....then she had her tubes tied REALLY tight!!  I only know having a young energetic mother and it was wonderful.  She is my best friend! Once again, congrats to all!!

Thanks you guys...Aubrey just read the posts as well and also says thanks for the  well wishes! She just got to finally sleep four hours in a row and grandma took the one o'clock feeding and washed him down to put on fresh pjs. Grandpa is walking around with him now as we speak to show him pics on the wall and explain who these people are! Its cute!
